Position Title: Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Principal Systems Analyst's major responsibility is to provide knowledge, expertise, mentoring, development, training and support to the Administrative App projects in their use of the BRIO Portal product and SQR. This position resides within the Information Technology group which focuses on assisting admin projects by leveraging existing tools, technologies, and processes across the projects with a goal of containing ongoing support costs. Brio Dev & Support (50%) Develop data models, views, queries, custom interfaces, utilities, procedures, etc. for the administrative projects. Help mentor, train and support developers and end-users in using software from Brio Technology. Work with DBAs and developers on designing reporting tables, utilities, scripts, views, procedures, etc. SQR Dev. & Support (25%)-Be the IT expert on SQR. Provide mentoring to project teams as they increase their SQR skills. Develop and document programming guidelines to share best practices, tips and tricks. Assist project teams by developing complex formats(.pdf, .xls, html, .csv, etc) online via browsers with the ability to also print them in hardcopy. Provide assistance in addressing performance concerns w/SQR programs. Work closely w/the Database administrators and Proj App Database Admins to optimize SQL statements. Special Projects (25%)- As assigned, work on projects to develop generic solutions, scripts or procedures to further extend the Brio software capabilities. This requires a broad understanding of multiple platforms, multiple languages, utilities and products, and how they integrate.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a broad understanding of technologies, an ability to work across development projects and infrastructure support groups in order to leverage existing tools, technologies, and processes with the overall goal of containing on-going support costs.
Other qualifcations include: Bachelor's degree in BA/BS in any science field required, Computer Science degree preferred. Minimum of 5 yrs direct programming experience required. Requirements include: min. 3 yrs demonstrated experience with Brio Technology's query products, and SQR, as well as Oracle, UNIX, and SQL; 4GL or ojbect oriented programming languages; application development methodology; javascript programming. Demonstrated experience with Brio Portal and Enterprise, Sybase, and PeopleSoft desired. Understanding of security aspects such as authentication, Encryption and Authorization desired. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively negotiate, listen, and communicate with team members, customers, staff, and vendors. Excellent management skills including ability to set priorities and provide follow-through. Good written and verbal communication skills for use in both technical and administrative environments. Analytical ability to think systematically and clearly articulate and effectively advocate sound solutions to complex problems. Ability to work effectively with a minimum of direction.
