Position Title: JR. Business Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION: Client is currently replacing the Information System, a client-server application. Major new business functionality will be added to the user interface including self-service web capabilities. The Jr. Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between our users and the technical staff in order to maximize the benefits the organization receives from its investment in information technology. Interact with users to develop business requirements and functional specifications documents. Help insure the quality of the applications by defining acceptance criteria, developing and executing system tests. Here is an exciting opportunity to work with a small, sophisticated development group using the latest tools and techniques. Our system is a large-scale, complex, distributed-computing application which serves more than 400 staff members locally and hundreds of thousands of users around the world via the Internet. Developing business requirements,programming specifications and testing documents Develop automated test scripts & work with developers regarding bugs. Perform testing, report status and work with developers regarding software releases Consulting with users about new features and defects. Creating and editing user documentation and training materials Working with a complex application of broad scope and impact. Applying a high level of knowledge, ingenuity, and logical thinking to solve systems and program design problems. Participating in development efforts which apply usability principles and guidelines to design and develop interfaces to satisfy user requirements effectively Working with other members of project team in a harmonious and effective manner Delivering applications which will enable and empower clients

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a strong professional commitment to the successful development of highly complex administrative systems combined with an understanding of how to achieve that success. The candidate must be able to work comfortably in a demand-driven environment, with responsibility for a number of interrelated software products and systems. A degree in Information Systems or a related field, and at least 3 years of applicable experience, or the equivalent combination of education & experience is required. Demonstrated successful experience implementing complex administrative information systems Understanding of the business analysis process Ability to develop test plans and detailed programming specifications that will satisfy the business requirements Understanding of system testing concepts and test plan design Demonstrated strong conceptual, logical and problem-solving Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-based environment.Experience in development of web & client/s applications.Experience in higher education environment and/or business information systems.
