Position Title: SR. PeopleSoft Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Client has initiated a project to replace legacy Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefit systems with the PeopleSoft HR/Payroll/ Benefit modules.The Applications Developer for the HR/Payroll/Benefit Legacy Replacement project reports directly to the Applications Manager or the Conversion Manager.
His/her major responsibility is analyzing, developing/modifying, unit testing, & documenting the PeopleSoft Panels, processes, & reports. The HR/Payroll/Benefits Legacy Replacement Project is one of the major projects being implemented at client today.
The Applications Developer (90%): designs, develops, tests, & documents all required modifications, interfaces, conversions, & reports. Reviews & understands specifications. Ensures development meets project development standards & guidelines. Performs unit testing. May perform integration testing to ensure code/modifications work within the subfunction. Develops project plans, timelines, & resource estimates as the specifications are better understood. Works with the Applications Manager to coordinate deliverables & timeframes for the project. Escalates issues & priorities to the Applications Manager. Uses the Project's Configuration Management process for version control & code migration. Debugs & troubleshoots panels, processes, batch programs, etc. as needed. Understands the PeopleSoft database tables. Works within the project guidelines for creation/use of temporary tables. Reviews all SQL statements with a view on performance impact. Prepares status reports as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires PeopleSoft technical skills including PeopleTools, COBOL, SQR, and Process Scheduler. This position is an individual contributor and will report to the Applications Manage or the Conversion Manager for the project. The successful candidate will have strong developer skills, good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities, ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to move towards a successful implementation.Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, business administration or related field and/or 2-3 years experience in an Information Technology field. Minimum of 2-3 years direct application/conversion development/integration and support of marketplace product experience required. Minimum of 2-3 years direct PeopleSoft application development experience required.Demonstrated expereise in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, COBOL and using an Oracle database required Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated abilities to effectively work in teams, participate as a team member,listen,& communicate with clients,team members,& vendorsGood written &verbal communication skill Analytical ability, including the ability to think systematically & to clearly articulate & effectively advocate sound solutions to complex problems. Ability to work in a complex,diverse office environment with rapidly changing priorities Ability to work effectively with a minimum of direction Demonstrated expertise in using a Windows 95 or NT desktop, MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project).At the higher leve, the successful candidate is required to have:3-5 years experience in an Information Technology field.3-5 years direct application/conversion development/integration and support of marketplace product experience.3-5 years direct PeopleSoft application development experience.May be required to mentor more junior programmers.
